Mu' meneen Brothers and Sisters,
As Salaam Aleikum wa Rahmatullahi wa Barakatuh. (May Allah's Peace, Mercy and Blessings be upon all of you)
One of our brothers/sisters has asked this question:
Asa
One of my friends is into selling paintings. Shee has a painting with Allah's
name, painted by GulJee. A Hindu wanted to by this from her for Dh 33,000.00.
She did not sell it to him because he was a Hindu, thinking he might not give
the required respect to the painting since it had Allah's name on it.
The Hindu was buying it because it was a collector's item.
What is the ruling on this? Did she do the right thing? Please explain.
Jak.

Answer:
Sell painting with Allah’s name
In the name of Allah, We praise Him, seek His help and ask for His forgiveness. Whoever Allah guides none can misguide, and whoever He allows to fall astray, none can guide them aright. We bear witness that there is none worthy of worship but Allah Alone, and we bear witness that Muhammad (saws) is His slave-servant and the seal of His Messengers.
There is absolutely no harm and no restriction in Shariah if one gives a copy of the Glorious Quran, or some Surahs or Verses from it to a disbeliever in their efforts to invite them to the Truth of Islam.
But if one knows or fears that the disbeliever might intentionally disrespect the Words of Allah Subhanah, it would be best to abstain.
If the sister did not sell the painting with the Blessed Name of Allah Subhanah to a disbeliever only because she feared that the person would or might disrespect it, she will have her due reward for her noble intention and her piety in the Presence of her Lord, Insha Allah.
Whatever written of Truth and benefit is only due to Allah’s Assistance and Guidance, and whatever of error is of me alone. Allah Alone Knows Best and He is the Only Source of Strength.
Your brother and well wisher in Islam,
Burhan
