Mu' meneen Brothers and Sisters,
As Salaam Aleikum wa Rahmatullahi wa Barakatuh. (May Allah's Peace, Mercy and Blessings be upon all of you)
One of our brothers/sisters has asked this question:
Allah says in the Holy Quran Chapter 50 Surah Qaaf verse 35:
"There they (the men and women of Paradise) shall have all that they will desire, and We have with Us yet more for them!" If a married couple ascend to heaven, where they are once again reunited, and the woman desires that the husband has no additional wives (in heaven), and the husband desires otherwise, who gets their desire fulfilled? If peoples desires conflict - on this example or any issue - surely only one person can have fulifillment, whilst the other will suffer dissappointment. How is it possible therefore for EVERYONE to have ALL that they desire?
(There may be some grammatical and spelling errors in the above statement. The forum does not change anything from questions, comments and statements received from our readers for circulation in confidentiality.)
Answer:
Conflict of desires in paradise
In the name of Allah, We praise Him, seek His help and ask for His forgiveness. Whoever Allah guides none can misguide, and whoever He allows to fall astray, none can guide them aright. We bear witness that there is none worthy of worship but Allah Alone, and we bear witness that Muhammad (saws) is His slave-servant and the seal of His Messengers.
Your Question: …..How
is it possible therefore for EVERYONE to have ALL that they desire?
Allah says
in the Holy Quran Chapter 50 Surah Qaaf verse 35:
"There they (the men and women of Paradise)
shall have all that they will
desire, and We have with Us yet more for them!"
Respected brother, when Allah Subhanah, the Majestic and Supreme Lord of the worlds has Himself Promised that every fortunate dweller of Paradise will have all that their hearts will desire; Allah is our witness brother, that is exactly how it will be! A believer should rest absolutely content and assured in his belief that the Lord Most Gracious Most Merciful never never ever fails to fulfill His Promises!
Allah says in the Holy Quran Chapter 25 Surah Furqan verses 15-16:
Ask them, “Is this (the Fire) better, or the Everlasting Gardens which have been promised to the God-fearing, righteous people (men and women)?”. That will be the recompense of their good deeds and the final destination of their journey, wherein, they will get everything they desire, and wherein they will dwell forever. This is a Promise which your Lord has taken upon Himself to fulfill.
Allah says in the Holy Quran Chapter 4 Surah An-Nisa verse 122:
The promises of Allah are True; and who can be truer in his word than Allah?
Because one naturally thinks with their ‘limited’ and ‘selfish’ imaginations of this worldly life, one simply just cannot even imagine, leave alone comprehend, the true nature of the Promised Realms of Paradise!
Allah says in the Holy Quran Chapter 32 Surah Sajdah verse 17:
No living being knows what comfort of the eyes has been kept hidden from them, as a recompense (in Paradise) for their (righteous) deeds!
Sahih Al-Bukhari Hadith 4.467 Narrated by Abu Huraira
Allah's Messenger (saws) said, "Allah, The High and Exalted He is, said, 'I have prepared for My pious slaves things (in Paradise) which have never been seen by an eye, or heard by an ear, or (even) imagined by a human being.'
Respected brother, rest absolutely assured that there will be absolutely no conflict between the noble dwellers of Paradise. If there are two individuals who had any ill-feeling between them on this earth, Allah Subhanah in His Mercy and Grace, will absolutely and totally remove that ill-feeling or injury which might have exited between them. When even those who were enemies on this earth will have no conflict between them in those Promised Gardens of Paradise, one can rest absolutely assured that a husband and a wife bonded in the sacred institution of marriage by their Lord will live in everlasting love, and peace, and harmony, and tranquility.
Allah Says in the Holy Quran Chapter 15 Surah Hijr verses 45-48:
45 The righteous (will be) amid Gardens and fountains (of clear-flowing water).
46 (Their greeting will be): "Enter ye here in Peace and Security."
47 And We shall remove from their hearts any lurking sense of injury: (they will be) brothers (joyfully) facing each other on thrones (of dignity).
48 There no sense of fatigue shall touch them, nor shall they (ever) be asked to leave.
Respected brother, it is indeed possible that a wife on this earth, regardless of how much she fears Allah and the Last Day, might be compelled by her heart and her inherent nature to deny her husband something which has been made lawful and permissible for him……but in the realms of Paradise, no individual, man or woman, will hold any grudge, or jealousy, or ill-will amongst each other….and each will be given so much by their Lord Most Gracious, that we absolutely assure you no one will even think of any feeling of rancor and any conflict whatsoever in their hearts for what their Lord Most Bounteous has provided or made lawful for another individual.
Thus in conclusion brother, rest absolutely assured that each and every fortunate dweller in Paradise will have all that their hearts desire, and the lower elements of nature like disagreements, conflicts, ill-will, jealousy, hatred, competition, pride, arrogance, pain, anger, grief, fear, etc….will be absolutely non-existent in the Realms of Paradise. That is the Promise of the Lord Most Majestic Who Created; and there is none who is or can be Truer to His Word than Allah Subhanah.
Whatever written of Truth and benefit is only due to Allah’s Assistance and Guidance, and whatever of error is of me alone. Allah Alone Knows Best and He is the Only Source of Strength.
Your brother and well wisher in Islam,
Burhan
